2K technology for Zehnder Groep; motor plate with integrated oscillation damping and seal
Mechanical ventilation, or better said a central exhaust system is an important tool for regulating the climate in a house or other building. The mission of Zehnder Groep is more explicit: "Making people comfortable by realising a pleasant indoor climate in residential and working environments, without damaging the outdoor environment." This Timmerije Client Case focuses on a new Zehnder Groep model in the field of "air management" and Timmerije also made an important contribution to this. This is something new for both Zehnder Groep and Timmerije.

The new CMF residential ventilator
Zehnder Groep works continuously on developing new products and systems. Practical experiences are important here. For the development of the new CMF residential ventilator, Zehnder Groep has answered market demand. Moreover, the environment and the health of the end user were considered as much as possible. The result: the CMF residential ventilator.

"2K was a new material for us, which makes you are extra critical"
Thom Rebel, purchaser at Zehnder Groep: "We have worked together with Timmerije for some time and they helped put us on the right track with respect to the possibilities of 2K injection moulding for this new model. This was a new matter for us as purchasers, and for the constructors. But the possibility of making the motor plate, the oscillation dampers (sound) and the seal (against for example dust) in one production process was, of course, a perfect solution from various aspects. The fact that Timmerije already had considerable experience in the field of critical synthetic products and 2K technology was again a pleasant incidental circumstance," said Thom Rebel.

Many studies and calculations
"However, we took no chances with the development. Many studies and calculations were made and prototypes were evaluated. This led to all kinds of improvements in the moulds. We were ultimately happy with the outcome as we were with the cooperation and involvement of Timmerije. The objectives of motor noise reduction and the optimum protection of the vital parts of the system were certainly achieved and it goes without saying that fewer operations with respect to final assembly resulted in greater efficiency and profit," said Rebel. "We also learnt a lot, such as paying critical attention to small details. But... the market ultimately has the last word. We expect many of these new model batches and I, of course, hope that this expectation comes true".
