How Timmerije works for Eaton Holec on ‘The trouble-free alternative'
We take it for granted that the alarm radio wakes us in the morning, that the light comes on in the bathroom, that one's shaver works and that one can effortlessly make a cup of coffee. And, of course, the safety alarm works at the office, the computer works and the production line can be started immediately. In brief, one can't imagine modern society without electricity.

Indeed, reliable and continuous energy supply has become something that is so taken for granted that we don't even think about it anymore. One more reason for the energy companies and the industry to ensure a faultless and interference-free distribution network. Eaton Holec in Hengelo fulfils a key role in this regard. Eaton Holec products can be found at any junction in the energy line, i.e. in the network between the power station and the enduser of electrical energy. The central electricity activities of Eaton Holec are primarily focused on switch gears for use in the energy distribution and industry. A Timmerije case with exciting dimensions.

Disconnector housing for the new Xiria 24kV Ring Main Unit
Timmerije contributed designs and ideas for a disconnector housing for such a switch gear: the new Xiria 24kV Ring Main Unit. The Xiria is used in compact transformer stations and in stations accessible to people in the utility industry and in industry in general. In addition, Xiria is very suitable for use for decentralised power generation, e.g. wind energy. Timmerije said: "The disconnector housing is in fact the enclosure for a switch mechanism that is specifically meant for switching after a long period of inactivity, i.e. it is a form of safety. It is a complex product that comprises several parts and complies with high ‘electrical' demands".

Xiria: the trouble-free alternative
Jan Meijerink, Purchasing Manager of Eaton Holec Middenspanning, explained why they choose Timmerije: "We sought a party that could think along with us - in a technical respect as well. We found this at Timmerije. It was not just due to one of their Project Managers, who had worked at Eaton Holec before, e.g. on the Xiria project. Although this gave Timmerije a head start, this was not the only reason for our choice. Other aspects were also important. For example, the desired intensive cooperation between the developers of Timmerije and even the suppliers of the raw materials. Logistical aspects were also important, as we want to deliver ‘to the line' a product that is complete as possible". Moreover, costs also played a role for Eaton Holec. The Xiria had to be ‘The trouble-free alternative' in a market in which deregulation, market operation and commercial costs receive an increasing amount of attention. The plus points that Xiria 24kV Ring Main Unit had to deliver, such as operational safety, maintenance-free, safety, visible insulation and earthing, environmentally friendliness and compactness, could not be endangered by this. Jan Meijerink: "It is always about balancing and weighing up the pros and cons when looking for the ‘best buy'. This was successfully achieved in cooperation with Timmerije. Although it was the first project that we had done with them, we had worked on other Holec sites before this. So Holec and Timmerije are a combination that work".
